Who may review
Owners, operators, renters, fleet managers, mechanics, dealer employees, and manufacturer employees may submit experience. Their relationship must be labeled. Marketing copy, hearsay, duplicate accounts, and generic brand opinions do not qualify for a score.
What becomes public
Published reviews may show the relationship, model year, experience, use case, ratings, buy-again answer, praise, complaints, and moderation status. Names, email addresses, account identifiers, IP/device signals, and ownership documents stay private.
Verification and weight
Proof can include an invoice, fleet record, machine photo, rental record, or other credible evidence. Verification changes confidence; it never guarantees a positive review. Dealer or manufacturer employment is disclosed and may exclude a review from customer-sentiment scoring.
Moderation and anti-gaming
We screen duplicate submissions, coordinated bursts, undisclosed commercial relationships, copied text, implausible experience, referral patterns, and conflicts with submitted evidence. A person may not repeatedly rate the same machine to move a score.
Responses and disputes
Manufacturers may respond publicly and submit factual corrections. They cannot buy removal, privately edit a rating, or replace an owner’s opinion. Factual disputes and opinion disputes follow separate queues.
Withdrawal and enforcement
A contributor may withdraw a review from their account. Equipment Insider may reject, label, de-weight, unpublish, or preserve an audit record when a review violates this policy. Score history is recalculated after an eligible review changes state.
